Wooden incense tray made in India from Sheesham wood, an inexpensive hardwood which is commercially grown. The harvesting process is carefully monitored by the Indian government and it is actually illegal for anyone other than foresters to cut down a living tree. The manufacturer of these items is a small cottage industry with three generations of wood crafters. Designs are enhanced by carving, saw work, and brass or wood inlay.
Measures approximately 10 inches in length with hole for single incense stick.
