Cachos are important to indigenous music, and these hand-crafted Andean Cachos are made in Lima, Peru. They are a traditional percussion instrument from the Andes & have a rich pre-Colombian tradition. While we stock many variations of Cacho instruments, all are made either from Seed Pods or Bells. This Cacho is bound together with string and adorned with a hand woven cinta or strap before being attached to the bamboo handle. Cachos are used by Andean Groups to keep rhythm when they are shaken to the beat. Handle measures 3 inches across.
