Our Global Shaman Native American smudges are sustainably harvested by Native Americans. A portion of sales supports a Native American reservation cooperative, an initiative that is providing hope for a community in poverty. The different herbs used in our smudges are grown and harvested by Native Americans in a sustainable manner that preserves their natural habitat. Our smudges are packaged in biodegradable bags, with eco-friendly hangtags, in keeping with our commitment to the environment.
For centuries smudging, the burning of aromatic herbs, has been believed to release the beneficial properties of each plant. Properties of these herbs are listed below:

The White Sage Smudge is the most common incense burning plant used by Native Americans.
White Sage (Salvia Apiana) is traditionally used as a space clearing plant, to remove negative energy indoors and out. It supports healing rituals, sweat lodge ceremonies and festivals. Its fresh herbal fragrance rejuvenates the mind and enhances mental clarity and memory.

Blue sage is burned to disperse negative energy and is said to have protective properties.

The Mountain sage/cedar/sweetgrass combo is intended to  dispels negative energy and infuse healing energy (sage) and sweetgrass attracts positive energy while cedar helps to cleanse.

Cedar grows at high altitudes and carries the energy of clarity and strength which is released when burning. Cedar transforms negative vibrations and recharges space with new energy.
